Sully was the singleton puppy from Carmin’s second litter, sired by AKC CH/UKC BIMBS GRCH Foxboro Travelin’ Soldier. Sully earned a 4-point major his first time in the ring (not quite 8 months old) at the GMNEA Specialty on Friday, February 29, 2008, going Winners Dog and Best of Winners. The following day, he was Best Puppy in Sweepstakes! At his first all-breed show, Sully went Best of Opposite over top Specials. Sully was 2nd place in the 9-12 month puppy class at the 2008 Nationals under breeder-judge Lynda Tarnowski, and 3rd place in the Bred-By Exhibitor class under Norwegian judge Bjorn Bjerketvetd. Sully was BEST PUPPY IN SWEEPS both days at the NEINEA Specialty in June, 2008, including a win under breeder-judge Bonnie Turner. Like his mother Carmin and grandfather Joshua, Sully was a multiple specialty Award of Merit winner. He finished his AKC Grand Championship in September, 2010, becoming just the sixth Norwegian Elkhound to earn that title, earned his Bronze GCH easily, and was the third Elkhound to achieve the Silver Grand Championship. He was a Group Winner, multiple Group placer and multiple Specialty BOS, Select Dog and AOM winner. He was been reintroduced to the show ring as a veteran and has received multiple awards. Sully was a proven sire with multiple champion offspring in limited breedings.
Through a freak accident, puppy Jordan was taken from us far too soon, at just 7 months old. We are devastated by her loss and miss her terribly. So full of life, so innocent, and so beautiful, her death was tragic and meaningless. While she was with us, she was the light of our lives. We miss her so. We can only thank our dear friends for their sympathy and support after Jordan passed—there are no words to express the comfort you gave us.
We hope that Jordan has found peace, and are grateful for the short time she enriched our lives. She is laid to rest out in our field, where she so loved to run.
”Storm” – what a lady. Storm earned her Rally Novice title and her CD at the 2006 NEAA Nationals (in three consecutive tries). Storm was a Versatile Norwegian Elkhound. Although Storm gave us just one litter, she was our foundation bitch and a beloved member of our family. We loved her enthusiasm, willingness to please, her structure, her loving personality, and her ability to stamp these qualities not only on her children, but her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When Storm crossed the Rainbow Bridge, she left a hole in our hearts.
Miranda, daughter of GCH Elvbend’s Der Fleigende Hollander (Dutch) and CH Foxboro’s Tosca at Elvbend (Tosca).
Miranda began her show career at 6 months old and earned her first two points at her first show weekend, going Best of Opposite Sex over Specials. She finished easily out of the puppy classes.
Miranda is now retired. She regrettably developed pyo and had to be spayed and was never able to contribute her lovely temperament and structure to our breeding program. She was lovingly rehomed with a fellow elkhound person, where she now presides over an older housemate! She has also, in her new home undertaken new challenges, including an AKC CGC and introduction to agility.
